John McFarland will speak on "Obtaining Evidence of Fraud in Asia" at the 2008 Economic Crime Conference in Kuala Lumpur on 9th Oct, 2008.
Surveys continue to confirm that fraud remains one of the most problematic issues for businesses worldwide, no matter what a company's country of operation, industry sector or size. As information can race across continents in seconds nowadays, the proliferation of economic related crimes is a cause for concern, especially in the many Asian countries that are enjoying meteoric economic development.
Organised by HELP University College, the 2008 Economic Crime Conference is a premier gathering of professionals and corporate leaders to discuss approaches and strategies to combat the threat of economic crime intra-regionally and across borders.
During the conference, John will first discuss the impact of the cultural diversity of Asia on fraud and investigations. He will also point out the country specific issues that impact on fraud investigation, and how computer forensics can have an important role in overcoming the trans border complexity.
